What is a Home Inspection?

A home inspection is an extensive visual examination of the systems and physical structure of a home. There is also state laws that govern NJ Home Inspections which we strictly follow. The Inspection will examine the condition of the following:

  • Exterior Areas of the Home, Grading
  • Heating System and Operation
  • Central Air Conditioning System NJ Home Inspector
  • Plumbing Systems
  • Electrical Systems
  • Roof, Attic and visible insulation
  • Interior
  • Walls, ceiling, floors, and doors
  • Foundation, Basement and Structure

It is highly recommended that the client attend the inspection. It is the perfect opportunity for the inspector to show the client any concerns found during the inspection. The home inspector can also discuss valuable maintenance tips with you during the inspection. This interaction between the inspector and the client is Double Check Home Inspection's favorite part of the inspection. We can schedule the appointment when it is convenient for you to attend the inspection.

Why do I need a Home Inspection?

The purchase of a home is probably the largest single investment that you will ever make. You should learn as much as you can about the condition of the property and the need for any major repairs before you buy, so that you minimize unpleasant surprises afterwards. Of course, a home inspection also points out the positive aspects of a home. After the inspection, you will have a much clearer understanding of the house you are about to purchase.

What is the Inspection Report?

The Inspection Report is an extensive written narrative analysis of the condition of the home at the time of the Inspection. Detailed information about each section is contained in the report. The report consists of 30 to 40 pages and is sent to the client within 2 days of the inspection. The report features a convenient summary page that lists each of the section's issues on one page.
If the inspector identifies problems, it does not mean that you should not buy the house, only that you will know in advance what to expect and what might need repair. A seller may adjust the purchase price or make repairs if major problems are found
